History
Intermountain Lock & Security Supply was founded in 1966 by Jay Hickenlooper. Learning the family trade at a young age, Jay took over his fathers' inventory and worked out of a building basement using the honor system to track his inventory. Customers would come to his business location and simply write down on a piece of paper what they took and make payments at a later date. In 1970, the first building was purchased in Salt Lake City and the journey began. Over the next 40 years, IMLSS has opened locations in Utah, Colorado, Nevada, California and Arizona and services customers throughout North America. All starting with one man's vision of a company built on trust, relationships and service, Intermountain Lock & Security Supply is now one of the leading wholesale distributors in the Western United States.
